How I Loved the Broken Things of Rome




J.R. Carpenter is a poet, fiction writer and web artist based in Montréal. She is a two-time winner of the CBC Radio’s Québec Short Story Competition and has been awarded grants in both the Literature and New Media categories from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. Her poetry, short fiction and critical essays have appeared in anthologies and journals in Canada, the US and the UK and her web art projects have been exhibited in Canada, the US, the UK, Mexico and Germany. Her most recently web project, Entre Ville was commissioned by OBORO New Media Lab in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Conseil des arts du Montréal in 2006.

How I Loved the Broken Things of Rome was created with the support of Barbara Catalini in Rome, and in Montréal: Stéphane Vermette, the Oboro New Media Lab artist in residency programme and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
